In our daily lives, we navigate a world overflowing with sounds and visual stimuli, where the incessant flow of “words” relentlessly pursues us. Advertising, war, money, power, and conflict manifest in the language we encounter, saturating our consciousness. Every utterance evokes its own narrative, a mental advertisement that shapes our perception.

Within this cacophony, moments of true stillness are scarce. Our inner critic engages us in an unending dialogue, urging us to evaluate our worth in comparison to others while diverting our attention from the fundamental need for connection. In this race for acknowledgment, we often raise our voices and neglect the quiet interludes that allow for introspection.

We find ourselves inundated by a torrent of fragmented messages that mirror a society rife with discontent. The yearning for silence amidst this tumult is palpable and profound.

Breaking free from this noise requires effort, guiding us to explore the shadowy recesses within ourselves where tranquility thrives. Here, we encounter the duality of “life and death,” embracing their natural interplay. Each breath draws us deeper into this sanctuary, while each deliberate heartbeat creates a renewed space for reflection.

In the exhibition “Silence,” SKWG curates works that embody the concept of “absolute silence,” inviting viewers to experience a transformative shift as the overwhelming stimuli yield to the profound depths of “black noise.”
